Chris Rock and Dwayne Johnson Will Not Be Hosting the Emmys

Soon after this year’s Oscars ceremony, it really should come as no surprise that the Emmys are possessing some trouble reserving a host. Deadline reports that the Primetime Emmy Awards have attained out to Chris Rock and Dwayne Johnson to host the celebration on NBC this September to no avail. 

Rock—who was infamously slapped by Will Smith while presenting at the Oscars in February—has reportedly turned down the give. Per Deadline, it seems unlikely that Johnson will accept the higher-profile gig possibly. Both Rock and Johnson created feeling as prospective Emmys hosts for NBC, presented their ties to the community: Rock’s television career commenced on Saturday Night Live, and he has returned to host the sketch show on a few occasions. Johnson is the executive producer of a comedy sequence motivated by his lifetime, Younger Rock, which was just renewed for a 3rd period by the community.

Previous year’s Emmys ceremony aired on CBS and was hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, who stars in the sitcom The Neighborhood on that network. Emmys producers Completed+Dusted in association with Reginald Hudlin’s Hudlin Amusement are reportedly looking for out leading-tier talent, and are inclined to glimpse beyond the NBC bubble to find mentioned talent, in accordance to Deadline. But that search has been much easier claimed than completed, as it is been described that NBC late-night hosts like Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers—both of whom have hosted the ceremony in the past—are not fascinated in the gig.
